If the training is indoors:

The spray is sprayed on the intended place or on a mattress designated for dogs, then make the puppy smell the place of the spray and put the food and water next to the intended place. The process is repeated before and after eating.

If the training is outside the home:

Spray it in the intended area, then make the dog smell the place of the spray. Repeat the process a number of times during the day.
